Shan was born in 1984 in Madras, India. When he was four he and his parents migrated to Wellington, New Zealand where He attended primary and secondary school at Scots College. in 2015, He and his parents moved to Auckland where he currently resides.

After gaining a B.A. from AUT he experiments various genres.
In his spare time he enjoys reading university journals from a selected array of topics and subjects and attends various writing meetups.

in 2024 he gave a TEDx Talk AT UoA 2024 under  the topic of Post-Capitalist Futures. 

Shan has a book Called The Six Sentinels which is a critique on Capitalism which is a complex distinctive in depth analysis of Capitalism, The Corporation, the  State and the role of the Media in society today.

His first debut novel “Dystopian” is to set to released in by end of September.
